I don't understand the feeling of rejection. It is Westminster that is being rejected, not the English, Northern Irish or Welsh. As a country, Scotland's vote is worth next to nothing. Only twice since world war 2 would their vote have made a difference (other than the Tories would have had an outright majority in 2010). Obviously not everyone can get the government they want all the time, but for the whole of your country's political sentiment to be an irrelevance and easily overpowered by your larger neighbour is a differnt matter. Scotland has a chance to change this and take their fate into their own hands, for better or worse. Anyway, this is my last comment on the matter. Still not sure what I really want the result to be, in my heart of hearts. I suppose I'll only really know when I see it. |
