Well I didn't for the same reason I didn't ask, "why do robbers rob home, why do murderers kill people, why do shoplifters shoplift?" If you want me to list every possible law that could be broken it would take a long time. The better question is why did you? And it's because in two successive days of walking I have been clipped by cyclists riding where the signs say they shouldn't and where the majority don't. I dare say if I had just been pranged by a speeding motorist I would be pretty angry about them. But it's a genuine question. I don't know you from Adam Oliver but from your response I am guessing that you are a cyclist and that you yourself don't always dismount when required to do so. And I really would like to understand what goes through your head when you see a large "No Cycling" sign and think, "that doesn't apply to me". What's the rationale for thinking it doesn't/shouldn't? It was a simple question only looking for a simple answer. |
