Aha!! I am actually looking for a few honeys from different countries to serve at Rosh Hashanah - Jewish New Year. I thought this was the best place to get recommendations for local honey, but love to have any other suggestions!! The custom at Rosh Hashanah is to eat apples dipped in honey to wish for a sweet New Year and to eat round challah - it's the plaited bread you see in Gails Bread or the Bread shop and we have it every Friday night, but for Rosh Hashanah you have round Challah. This year Rosh Hashanah is 24th-26th Sept. For a family lunch on 25th Sept I am hoping to have a selection of different honeys from different countries for a bit of fun! Hope that makes sense - also explains my deadline; sadly the event in October will be too late for this, but sounds fab! Thanks Chiswick! |
