"Our English MPs represent the regions. They should meet at Westminster.." You could say the same about Scots and Welsh MPs. Unfortunately that genie is out of the bottle and won't go back. Why should English MPs double-up when other MPs don't ? If there is one place an English assembly (within the UK) should NOT meet, it is London - and certainly not Westminster. If there was only one assembly for the whole of England, then York or Tamworth would be the best options on the grounds of geography and history. |
