It might work if they sat somewhere other than Westminster, but then we would have the Brussels/Strasbourg nonsense being repeated. Scots MPs do not sit as a Scots Parliament, and Welsh MPs do not sit as the Senedd. The number of MPs in the UK House of Commons at Westminster should be drastically reduced - at least by 50% - and two regional assemblies, for Northern and Southern England, plus perhaps the GLA, should represent the same powers over domestic matters for England as the assemblies in Edinburgh and Cardiff. |
