Just come back from a walk in Southfield Playing Fields and saw that nearly every single majestic tree forming a beautiful avenue in the park that goes all down the back of Alexandra Road has a notice on saying they are to be cut down. They all look completely healthy - while I could imagine one or two might have problems, there is clearly another reason for a whole lovely avenue of tall trees to be felled. Cheaper than maintaining them properly?
The uglification programme continues. I would like to know exactly why they are cutting these trees down - I am afraid the usual 'health and safety' which councils and businesses use to mean they can do anything they want just doesn't wash here. |
