As Nick says, if the furniture is on the pavement (i.e. the public highway) then the relevant licence is required from the Council. There's two such applications which can be viewed on the LPA website at the link below : http://www.hounslow.gov.uk/street_trading Although such an application is totally separate legislation to planning, I've done several such licence applications for cafes, wine bars etc., albeit none in LBH, and my experience is that Councils are very rigid with regard to whether or not to issue a licence based upon the remaining available pavement width. I've no idea however whether all such companies have obtained the correct licence, and if not whether they have been investigated etc. |
