Alastair, I agree that sometimes people laugh in traumatic situations, but I’ve only ever seen this occur when a person is clearly in an emotional state, and struggling to control their emotions - often accompanied with tears and erratic breathing. This is what I see in her sister. Her mother talks in a calm and controlled manner, showing little emotion; but I don’t see an interview of joviality, filled with laughter, as we see in the interview with the very happy and relaxed sister of James Foley. She and her brother were also interviewed shortly after James Foley was, allegedly, beheaded whereas the video footage that you refer to regarding Alice Gross was filmed days ago, before anyone had been arrested on suspicion of murder. Of course, people have different emotional thresholds, but what I see in James Foley’s sister, I do not believe. |
