Ann, my standards - I suspect like yours - are extremely high, despite what you might think, but when I read well meaning information written in gobbledegook verging on gibberish, I sometimes despair. The 'negativity and 'rudeness' to which you refer, but does not exist, is directed at the person - or non-person - who actually sat down and wrote this nonsense (Daniela Cabral?). What makes them think that such ridiculous long-winded terminology is somehow acceptable to anyone let alone the over 55s? I take it that you accept it as perfectly normal. The concept and ideas behind the venture are admirable, although appear to be geared towards women. I like what I hear, but I certainly do not like the way in which it is written, and I would suspect neither do you, and many others. "We love creating opportunities for intergenerational communication and connection...". Would you have written that? Where does it come from - Local Council websites, Government Depts, Quangos? Or perhaps too great a lexicographical intake? |
