A friend suggested that one could search the government's Motor Insurance Database for any car and see whether or not it has valid insurance. Presumably if it's not taxed, its insurance will not be valid? However, the website expressly states that one can only search for one's own car - there's a £4 charge for checking up on someone else's and this is allowed under limited circumstances only: http://ownvehicle.askmid.com/ |
