Classic stress reaction, assuming that your vet has confirmed that there are no clinical problems. Feliway may help but remember it doesn't cover a house so plug it in where your cat spends most of her time. It may also be that something external has disturbed your cat such as a new cat in the neighbourhood. Even being overlooked by a strange cat can be distressing. Ensure that her resources (bowls, litter tray, toys etc) are not near a window and provide her with somewhere to hide that is raised off the ground. An old box on a shelf is ideal. Make sure that you clean the soiling without using an ammonia-based cleaner. The vet can sell you specific products. Vicky Halls is one of the best feline behaviourists available. Would strongly recommend contacting her if things don't improve. Good luck. |
