Equity release - to be avoided if at all possible... not only are you reducing your equity, you lose control of your home with a bank being part owner. Also you pay interest and i you miss any payments they charge you interest on the interest.. it can add up pretty quickly. If you want to leave money to your family/charity etc this is not ideal. Better to downsize to release a lump sum, which you can then EARN interest on, rather than PAY interest. |
