Well with wages growing by 0.6% pa including (bankers)bonuses, thats not going to happen anytime soon. it doesnt matter if your house is worth £200k or £2m while you're living in it. Its a home. The asset value only becomes of any import if you die, sell it or borrow against it. And even then if you buy in the same area, the increase will be negated by the one you buy having gone up too. (Happily for me I have moved from Chiswick to one of the cheaper parts of the country, enabling me to upsize and pocket some equity as well, but most cant do that as they are tied to work/school/family) |
