None it would seem. One of Hounslow's greatest little money boxes is the small bus lane camera hidden in the trees on CHR just before Chiswick Roundabout. From Gunnersbury station to Chiswick Roundabout is single track traffic due to half the road width being taken up by a bus lane.ThIs bus lane terminates at the junction with Cambridge road north where the road becomes two lane up to the roundabout. In the evenings, traffic is usually backed up past Gunnersbury, so traffic is single file. The camera is sited just to catch drivers, who having sat in traffic caused by the bus lane, then cur across the white line as the bus lane comes to an end.Hounslow say the camera covers the length of the bus lane, but I have seen photo's from this camera, and it only covers the last 50 yards or so.The camera is there just to catch people who cross the white line before the bus lane finishes. If people are coming to visit me, I make a point of telling them mot to cross the white line before the lane ends, or it'll cost them £130.As far as Hounslow are concerned, the offence is absolute. If you cross the line it's £130 |
