Interesting discussion on Stephen Fry's radio programme this morning about the use of capital letters. From that I would deduce that the name is 'Le Meridien' with capitals so that says it is a name of something and that, strictly speaking, would need to have 'the' in front when describing the venue/place, etc. Whilst 'Le' is 'The' in French you would not translate it as such when using English so it is not 'the The'. All a bit pedantic but don't correct the boss - that's a no no. |
