The estate agents Savilles have opened a large office in Hong Kong specifically to sell new off plan london properties to people who have absolutely no intention of ever visiting the UK.   They treat it like we would putting some money into a savings account.  

Oh, and the block in the original post - Corner Haus - has two social housing apartments and I've been told that they're building a separate entrance just for them (presumably at the back) so that the 'proper' inhabitants don't have to mix with them.
