Dear Resident / Business,
Hogarth roundabout night time A316 southbound closure for five nights
We are writing to update you on the essential works to Hogarth flyover which are now underway and upcoming planned night time closures of the A316 southbound.
What we would like you to know
From Wednesday 6 August 2014 for five nights, cranes will be working on a section of the carriageway near Boston Gardens to install the new deck panels. To enable this work, the A316 southbound will be closed between 22:00 until 6:00 on Wednesday 6 , Thursday 7, Friday 8 and Sunday 10 and Monday 11 August.
The works will not affect the Prudential Ride London road race on Sunday 10 August. Signed diversions will be in place to guide drivers around the works and access to local roads will be maintained at all times.
What do the works involve?
The flyover is closed until 31 August to allow for essential works to replace the deck. Since 19 July TfL and our contractors, Conway-Aecom, have been working to remove the deck panels. The demolition work has progressed well and is now complete. The remaining activities include repairing the steel, installing the new deck, laying concrete and then resurfacing and waterproofing the carriageway. After the flyover is reopened, the scaffolding will be removed and the roundabout and north east verge will be planted and landscaped. Works are taking place throughout the day and night so that the essential repairs can be completed in the shortest time possible. Noisy activities are scheduled to take place between 06:00 – 23:00 including weekends.
Whilst we carry out these essential works, at times we may need to close a lane on the A316 Hogarth roundabout between 22:00 to 6:00 to allow materials to be removed safely. We are monitoring traffic at the roundabout and across the wider
