| In my quite wide circle of work colleagues and friends I am not aware of anyone who is (actively) watching this event - perhaps because there has been sport "overkill" on TV this summer and how interesting is it really to see who can jump higher than anyone else? As a separate matter the disruption to the schedules is really over the top and in my idle moments I imagine the outrage if my hobbies/interests were exclusively catered for over a two week period - back-to-back programmes over two main channels showing only classical music concerts, airshows/vintage car events, architectural tours of Europe and the finer points of real ale drinking! |
