I also tried, Maggie, on two separate occasions, writing several letters and obtaining the council tax banding for all the other flats in my block (SC), and pointing out the fact that other flats of exactly the same size and layout, even on my own staircase, were on a lower banding. All to no avail. The replies from both LBH and the Valuation Authority amounted to: 'Produce all the evidence you like, we're not changing it.' The fact that I would have been owed excess payments dating back to 1992 had nothing to do with their decision, of course.
