What we want at the moment is action from the Council. Our complaints are passed on to various people and departments by our Councillors and by Mr Amrit Mann. We have no feedback afterwards. There seem to be various meetings with vague ideas about promoting business opportunities on Chiswick High Road. The first port of call should be a complete rethink of refuse disposal in Chiswick town centre. Aren’t businesses worried about the impact of these unsightly plastic bags? Yesterday, I did not find Turnham Green Terrace appealing. Even The waste and Recycling Projects Officer who came to Chiswick acknowledged that the waste on TGT was unacceptable. Do the businesses and the Estate Agencies care? The image of our town centre is at stake. A final thought: there is an Ombudsman for local government whom we could appeal to. However, on the website, it says that we must have pursued every complaint procedure with the Council and have involved our councillors. Then we must give the Council time to remedy the situation. Are we already getting close to that point? |
