Iris, in answer to your qestions, yes, yes and yes.I recently needed a few things doing building wise, and as this has always been a 'noisy'house, decided I would have acoustic ceilings in all the ground floor rooms.The work was quite involved, and the whole place needed redecorating afterwards, but it was worth it.The cost of the entire building work, including redecorating and installing a new shower was £30k.A lot of money, but worth it
